CPPCC Chairman Yu Zhengsheng Meets with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya

In the afternoon of Aug. 20, 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya at the Great Hall of the People.

Yu Zhengsheng expressed that, over the fifty years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Kenya, the two countries have enjoyed frequent high-level exchanges, supported each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns. We have maintained close communication and coordination in international affairs as well as effective cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, tourism and media. China is willing to continue to uphold the principle of sincerity, friendship, equality and mutual benefit, to push for unceasing new progress in China-Kenya comprehensive cooperative partnership. The CPPCC is willing to further strengthen communication and exchanges with the National Assembly of Kenya to enhance understanding, to expand consensus and to inject fresh vitality into the continuous development of China-Kenya relationship.

Kenyatta expressed that Kenya and China share sincere fraternal friendship and cooperate closely in the extensive fields of economy, politics, society and culture. Kenya and China are facing common tasks of development. The Kenyan side hopes to learn from China for the experience of success to unceasingly deepen bilateral friendly cooperative relations.
