March 2nd, 2009, Nairobi. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Ming and Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Kenya signed an exchange of notes on the provision of cash donation at the treasury building. Hon. Mohammed Ali, Assistant Minister of State for Special Program also attended the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, the Chinese Government will provide three million USD in cash to the Kenyan government so as to help ease the ongoing food crisis that affects millions of ordinary Kenyan people.
