Kenya National Library Launches a China Corner

 

Nairobi August 13, 2008: A China Corner project was launched at the Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) today jointly by Mr. Richard Atuti, acting director of KNLS and H.E. Zhang Ming, Ambassador of China to Kenya.

In his remarks at the ceremony, H.E. Zhang Ming said, Chinese government attached great importance to the development of the cordial relationship between China and Kenya, and was committed to promoting and enhancing the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. The establishment of the China Corner by KNLS would provide a platform for Kenya people to learn more about China and play positive roles in furthering the cooperation between the two countries.

The Embassy of China in Kenya donated computers, TV sets, DVD players and books to help KNLS establish the China Corner.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Richard Atuti expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for the donation and applauded the friendly relation and cooperation between Kenya and China.
