Kenyan Vice President Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka Departed for Beijing Olympic Games

Nairobi, 6th August 6, 2008 At the invitation of the Chinese government and on behalf of H.E. President Mr. Mwai Kibaki, Vice President of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka leading a 12-member delegation left for China to attend the opening ceremony of the 29th Beijing Summer Olympic Games. H.E. Mr. Zhang Ming, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya went to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to see the delegation off.

Interviewed by the press at the airport, the Vice President spoke highly of the Kenya-China friendly relationship and bilateral exchange and cooperation in various fields. He commended the Chinese government for the excellent preparations for the Games and believed the Games would be a full success. He also encouraged Kenyan athletes to try their best to bring back home more medals.
