Hon. Vice President Musyoka Attended the Welcome Reception for the China TV Media Delegation

March 19th, Nairobi. China Radio International (CRI) African Headquarter held a welcome reception for the visiting China TV Media Delegation. Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Vice President of Kenya, Hon. Samuel Poghisio, Minister for Information and Communication, Mrs. Rebacca Nabutola, Permanent Secretary for Tourism, the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Zhang Ming, and over 100 guests from the tourist sector of Kenya and the Chinese Community in Kenya attended the reception.

In his remark, Ambassador Zhang Ming said that China cherished its traditional friendship with Kenya and was determined to work together with Kenya for continuous development of China-Kenya relations. According to the Ambassador, this China TV mediation delegation, composed of journalists from 19 Chinese provincial TV stations, has come to Kenya for the purpose of introducing the unique tourism resources to Chinese people and support Kenya's effort to revitalize the tourism industry which was severely hit by the post-election crisis. The delegation is scheduled to stay in Kenya from March 18th to 24th to shoot documentaries.

VP. Hon. Musyoka observed that Kenya and China have enjoyed a long-term friendly cooperation. "This is indeed a demonstration of good friendship. China came in at the time of need and expressed willingness to help in National healing and reconstruction." The VP commended the Chinese media for organizing the visit to help Kenya's tourism industry out of the setback in the past two months. His Honorable also expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries would be strengthen further.
