Chinese Companies Extended Hands to Kenyan IDPs

Recently, many Chinese companies in Kenya are actively taking part in the post election crisis recovery process, extending helping hands to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Among them are Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, SinoHydro Corporation Ltd, China Road and Bridge Corporation and Great Wall Drilling Company, which donated maize flour, drinking water and other necessities of life, worth about USD12,000 in total, either directly to IDPs camps or through the Kenyan Red Cross.

The Secretary General Abbas Gullet and other officials from the Kenyan Red Cross Society expressed their appreciation to the Chinese companies. In early January, the Chinese community in Nairobi made a donation of USD30,000 to help the victims of the post election violence, which was the 1st humanitarian donation received by the Red Cross Society.
