1. Briefing on COVID-19 cases in China

According to China's National Health Commission and the State Council inter-agency task force, the latest development of COVID-19 cases in China's mainland is as follows:

(1) March 10 saw ZERO fatality and 11 newly confirmed cases excluding Hubei province, 10 of which were imported.

(2) In Hubei Province, newly confirmed cases continued the declining trend and dropped to 13, all reported in Wuhan. Other cities in Hubei Province reported ZERO newly confirmed cases for 6 days in a row. 1,471 more patients were discharged from hospitals.

(3) As of 24:00 on March 10 (Beijing Time), 80,778 confirmed cases have been reported, including 61,475 cured cases and 3,158 fatalities.

2.While combating COVID-19 at home, China is ready to contribute to the global response in 5 areas:

(1) Step up communication and coordination with the WHO and the international community.

(2) Continue experience-sharing and exchange with other countries. China has so far published seven guidelines on COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment. The Embassy has shared the latest guidelines with Kenyan Ministry of Health.

(3) Send medical specialists to more countries and regions in need. At the request of the Italian government, China is sending a team of 7 Chinese medical experts to Italy together with relief supplies. Previously two medical teams have arrived in Iran and Iraq.

(4) Provide medicines and other supplies to the international community.

(5) Ramp up cooperation with the international community on science and technology.
