1. Briefing on COVID-19 cases in China

According to China's National Health Commission and the State Council inter-agency task force, the latest development of COVID-19 cases in China's mainland is as follows:

(1)  March 3 saw 4 newly confirmed cases and 1 fatality excluding Hubei province. 

(2) In Hubei Province, 115 newly confirmed cases were reported, and 2,389 more patients were discharged from hospital.

(3) 28 provinces (out of 31) reported ZERO newly confirmed cases.

(4) The cure rate was 50.2% in Wuhan City, 76.8% in Hubei Province (excluding Wuhan) and 87.3% in other provinces, all of which have kept rising for 19 consecutive days.

(5) As of 24:00 on March 3 (Beijing Time), 80,270 confirmed cases have been reported, including 49,856 cured cases and 2,981 fatalities.

 

2. China in cooperation with other countries to fight the epidemic

(1) China has held respective teleconferences with the European Union, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization together with countries such as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, etc, to exchange views on prevention and control measures, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.

(2) 250,000 protective suits have been delivered daily to Hubei province, surpassing the demand for half a month. Chinese manufacturers are encouraged to increase their flexible production capabilities to meet overseas demand.
