Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng Attended Computer Lab Launch Ceremony

Amb. Wu Peng traveled 370 kilometers away from the Kenyan capital on October 26th to a mountainous village in Trans-Nzoia to attend the launching ceremony of a computer laboratory donated by the Chinese embassy to Benon Secondary School. Local people showed up in large number despite the little rain, with several hundred people performing traditional dancing happily to thank China for its support to the local school to improve the infrastructure for the students. Amb. Wu delivered remarks, encouraging the students to acquire knowledge via computers to keep themselves up to date, build up their confidence, and excel themselves like the famous marathon runner Kipchoge Keyan.

Amb. Wu also gave a briefing on China-Kenya cooperation, reaffirming that outside noises cannot hinder China-Kenya cooperation, and that China will continue to work to deliver visible and tangible results to the Kenyan people.

Representatives of Kenyan government departments, local councilors, and elders expressed their thanks to China for its long-term strong support to Kenya’s economic and social development, especially in infrastructure, and called on its international partners to learn from China.
