Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng Met with Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Sports and Heritage.

Amb. Wu Peng paid a courtesy call on Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Sports and Heritage Amina Mohamed on June 19th, and exchanged views on China-Kenya cultural exchanges and sports and archaeology cooperation.

Amb. Wu said that the maritime silk road directly connects China and Kenya, and the history of China-Kenya friendly exchanges and interaction of the two civilizations is the best proof of historic bonds between China and countries along “Belt and Road”. The recent years have witnessed prosperous development of China-Kenya cultural exchanges, and strengthening of cooperation in sports and archaeology. The embassy is willing to strengthen communication with Kenyan Ministry of Sports and Heritage, so as to deepen and substantiate China-Kenya cultural exchanges and cooperation.

On her part, Amina said that with Kenya-China relations moving to a new level, their pragmatic cooperation also reaches new dimensions. Kenya always puts cooperation in archaeology and sports as well as cultural exchanges on a vital position. She hopes that the two sides can work together to leverage the strength of traditional bilateral friendship, tap their potential in cultural cooperation, continue to strengthen exchanges under the guidance of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and substantiate their cooperation.
