Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng Met with Kenyan Interior Secretary

Amb. Wu Peng paid a courtesy call on Fred O. Matiang’i, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination on June 17th, and exchanged views on China-Kenya security and law-enforcement cooperation. Counselor Wang Xuezheng was present at the meeting.

Amb. Wu said that with care and support of the two heads of state of China and Kenya, our bilateral relations have made great headway in recent years, with practical and friendly cooperation in various fields yielding fruitful results. China is willing to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation in security and law enforcement to ensure safe and smooth implementation of China-Kenya cooperation projects, protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese businesses and citizens in Kenya, and create enabling conditions for improvement and upgrading of China-Kenya cooperation.

 

On his part, CS Matiang’i said that Kenya-China relations are at its best period in history. The Interior Ministry will resolutely implement President Kenyatta’s policy of deepening relations with China, enhance communication with the Chinese embassy, and foster a safe environment for bilateral cooperation projects and for Chinese personnel, so as to promote the development of Kenya-China relations.
