Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng Met with Kenyan Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka

Amb. Wu Peng paid a courtesy call on Hon. Kenneth Lusaka, Speaker of Senate on 13th May, and exchanged views on bilateral relations with him. Minister Counselor Zhao Xiyuan was present at the meeting.

Amb. Wu commended Hon. Lusaka for his long-term support to the development of China-Kenya relations, saying the fact that President Kenyatta traveled to China three times within seven months and met with President Xi Jinping shows the strategic importance and high level of bilateral relations. As the new ambassador to Kenya, he is committed to working together with the Kenyan National Congress and people across the society to bring about more tangible outcomes in practical and friendly cooperation and deliver more benefits to the two peoples.

 

On his part, Speaker Lusaka warmly welcomed Ambassador Wu on his assumption of office, reaffirming that developing Kenya-China relations tops Kenya’s diplomatic agenda. He said that Kenya is grateful for the support and help China has provided to Kenya for its economic and social development, promising that the Senate and he himself will offer assistance to Amb. Wu’s work in Kenya and contribute to the further growth of Kenya-China relations.
