Welcome to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya.
It is my great honor to be appointed the 17th Chinese ambassador to Kenya, as well as the permanent representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat.
Kenya is blessed with picturesque scenery and pleasant climate. Kenyan people love nature and peace. Since her independence in 1963, Kenya has witnessed sustainable economic and social development, and become the center for business, finance, and transportation hub in East Africa. Kenya is also the only developing country that hosts an UN headquarter.
China-Kenya ties can be traced back over 600 years, when the fleets led by the great Chinese navigator Zheng He, who visited Kenyan coast four times, bringing silk, porcelain and friendship. China was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kenya.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta jointly upgraded the bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in 2017. China has been one of Kenya’s top trading partners and a major source of foreign direct investment for years.
The world is undergoing major development, transformation and adjustment, but peace and development remains the call of our day. China has been promoting a community with a shared future for China, Africa and mankind. We are willing to join all countries in the world, including Kenya, to create a beautiful future of greater prosperity.
The Chinese Embassy remains committed to promoting the long-term and healthy growth of China-Kenya relations, and protecting the lawful rights and interests of overseas Chinese nationals. I hope this website can provide information needed, serving as a window to China and a bridge for friendship of two peoples.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kenya
